Passenger terminal

Passenger terminal

The design of the Passenger terminal superimposes the formal band structure of the airport masterplan aiming to achieve a formal coherency between buildings and landscape. A sequence of roof bands of three different cross sections forms the roof, sheltering the building from extreme climate and allowing daylight to penetrate the deep floor plan.
The ever-changing geometry of the building roof and support structure and an elegant flow via mezzanine level for security and passport control for departing and arriving passengers contribute to a unique passenger experience.
The Passenger terminal creates a vivid image for the airport forming an iconic gateway for entering the country.
leit-werk established the space programme and design concept for this building including a strategy for its expansion from 4 to 8 MAP and beyond and supported DI in the tender process.
