new eastern european private airport

Island of Calm

leit-werk was invited by Halcrow for the development of a Concept design for the airport layout and all buildings for a brand new FBO facility in Eastern Europe.

The terminal’s fluid line was inspired by Franz Marc’s painting of a cat, symbolising the reclusiveness of the airport from the buzz of the Russian capital.

The airport will set new standards in FBO design in merging terminal and hangar into one attractive spatial and functional unit, exposing airport users during their stay in the terminal to aircraft inside the hangar. An unprecedented sky gallery above the aircraft invites potential aircraft buyers in a seducing sequence of bar, cafes, restaurants and sales lounges with exceptional views over the apron and into the hangar.
