Feasibility study for the re-development of an Art Nuveau swimming pool
Our study proposes the transformation of the former swimming pool into a centre for life-long learning in combination with accommodation and spa/wellness facilities.
The institution shall help to establish a new cultural centre within the inner city – the Kulturdreieck (cultural triangle). The study includes the spatial concept for the academy, the spa/wellness area, the hotel and holiday accommodation, the adjacent park and several service interventions.
The Art Deco swimming pool was closed in 2001 and had been empty since. As the historic building remains very important for the urban fabric of the town a feasible concept for a new use was needed coinciding with the regeneration of the lower part of the town.
